ENROLLED ACT No. 331 2020 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 836 BY REPRESENTATIVE JORDAN 1 AN ACT 2 To enact R.S. 37:761(D) and 764(E), relative to professionals licensed by the Louisiana 3 State Board of Dentistry; to provide for the waiver of certain licensing requirements 4 in the event of a declared state of emergency; to provide an effective date; and to 5 provide for related matters. 6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. R.S. 37:761(D) and 764(E) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 8 §761. Requirements of applicants for dental license 9 * * * 10 D. The requirement provided in Subsection C of this Section for any 11 national, regional, or independent third-party clinical dental licensing examination 12 passed by the applicant to include procedures performed on human subjects may be 13 waived or modified by the board during the state of emergency declared by 14 Proclamation Number 58-JBE-2020. 15 * * * 16 §764. Dental hygienist; application for license 17 * * * 18 E. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not 2 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature 3 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If 4 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become 5 effective on the day following such approval.
