HLS 20RS-1344 ORIGINAL 2020 Regular Session HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 40 BY REPRESENTATIVES WRIGHT AND DAVIS TAX: Directs the Dept. of Revenue to develop data on the projected impact the COVID-19 pandemic will have on Louisiana business revenue in 2020 and on net operating loss carry forward tax deductions for future tax filings 1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION 2To direct the Department of Revenue to develop and make public data on the projected 3 impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Louisiana business revenue in 2020 and on 4 net operating loss carry forward deductions for future tax filings. 5 WHEREAS, the Department of Revenue has the resources and staff necessary to 6accurately and comprehensively track and develop data for the projected financial impact 7the COVID-19 pandemic will have on Louisiana businesses; and 8 WHEREAS, the fiscal impact of the unprecedented pandemic on Louisiana 9businesses is anticipated to be severe and could subject businesses to significant economic 10losses; and 11 WHEREAS, providing businesses with information about the projected economic 12impact of the COVID-19 pandemic will allow for better financial planning and economic 13recovery. 14 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby 15direct the Department of Revenue to develop and make public data on the projected impact 16of the COVID-19 pandemic on Louisiana business revenue in 2020 and on net operating loss 17carry forward deductions for future tax filings. 18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 19Department of Revenue.
