Proposed law provides an exception to the present law relative to ethical standards for public
servants. 
Present law provides that supplementary compensation or benefits provided to a member of the
faculty, administration, or staff of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts from funds or property
accruing to the benefit of the center pursuant to the approval of the board of directors for use through
a foundation organized to support the center which is chartered specifically to provide aid to the
center in a philanthropic manner will be deemed for purposes of present law as a supplement to his
compensation to which he is duly entitled. 
Present law provides that this supplement will not be considered as regular compensation from his
governmental employer nor will it form any basis for governmentally supported benefits.
Proposed law includes the Jimmy D. Long, Sr. Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts.
Effective August 1, 2020.
