Present law requires the secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections (DPS&C) to
establish a Ducks Unlimited special prestige license plate for use on passenger cars, pickup trucks,
recreational vehicles, and vans and to charge an additional $50 fee for the plate.
Present law requires remission of the revenues realized from the additional fee imposed for the plate
to the state treasurer for credit to the "waterfowl account" created within the Conservation Fund,
after complying with R.S. 56:10(B).
Proposed law changes present law to require the DPS&C to collect and forward the additional fee
to Ducks Unlimited, Inc.
Effective August 1, 2020.
