Provides relative to the Ducks Unlimited special prestige license plate. (8/1/20) 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 47:463.53(D) and to repeal R.S. 56:10(B)(8), relative to the 3 Ducks Unlimited special prestige license plate; to redirect the monies realized from 4 the additional fee imposed for the plate from the special "waterfowl account" created 5 within the Conservation Fund to Ducks Unlimited, Inc.; to repeal the special 6 "waterfowl account" created within the Conservation Fund; and to provide for related 7 matters. 8 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 9 Section 1. R.S. 47:463.53(D) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 10 ยง463.53. Special prestige license plates; Ducks Unlimited 11 * * * 12 D. The revenues realized from the additional fifty-dollar fee imposed by 13 Subsection C of this Section shall be remitted to the state as provided by law. The 14 state treasurer shall place an amount equal to those revenues in the Conservation 15 Fund, after complying with the requirements of R.S. 56:10(B), and shall credit that 16 amount to the "waterfowl account" which is created within the Conservation Fund 17 through the provisions of R.S. 56:10(B)(8). The funds monies raised from the license plates shall be used solely 3 for the purpose of conserving, restoring, and enhancing migratory waterfowl habitat 4 in Louisiana. 5 * * * 6 Section 2. DIGEST SB 25 Original 2020 Regular Session Morris Present law requires the secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections (DPS&C) to establish a Ducks Unlimited special prestige license plate for use on passenger cars, pickup trucks, recreational vehicles, and vans and to charge an additional $50 fee for the plate. Present law requires remission of the revenues realized from the additional fee imposed for the plate to the state treasurer for credit to the "waterfowl account" created within the Conservation Fund, after complying with R.S. 56:10(B). Proposed law changes present law to require the DPS&C to collect and forward the additional fee to Ducks Unlimited, Inc. Effective August 1, 2020.
