(8/1/20) 1 AN ACT 2 To repeal R.S. 40:1046(K), relative to the sunset provision for the authorization of use of 3 therapeutic marijuana; to repeal the termination date; and to provide for related 4 matters. 5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. DIGEST SB 267 Original 2020 Regular Session Boudreaux Present law authorizes the therapeutic use of marijuana by certain patients with debilitating medical conditions if a physician approved to recommend medical marijuana by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners recommends it, the medical marijuana is produced by a producer regulated by the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, and it is dispensed by a pharmacy permitted to dispense medical marijuana by the Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy. Proposed law retains present law relative to the oversight and regulation of therapeutic marijuana. Present law terminates on January 1, 2025. Proposed law repeals the termination date.
