HOUSING.  Provides relative to installation standards for manufactured and modular homes.

1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 51:912.22(8), relative to installation standards for manufactured
3 and modular homes, and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. R.S. 51:912.22(8) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows;
6 ยง912.22. Installation standards for manufactured and modular homes
7	All manufactured and modular homes shall be installed to meet the following
8 standards, unless otherwise specified in this Part:

10	(8) In Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, in flood-prone areas,
11 the foundation shall comply with the requirements set forth in the manual,
12 Manufactured Home Installation In Flood Hazard Areas, published by the Federal
13 Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Further, for all installations in
14 Louisiana, the lowest finished floor shall be the top of the Chassis I-Beam. And
15 for all purposes related to the National Flood Insurance Program, all state and
16 local plans shall reference and use the top of the chassis I-Beam as the lowest
17 finished floor.

Present law, relative to installation standards for manufactured and modular homes, requires
that in flood-prone areas, the foundation comply with the requirements set forth in the
manual, Manufactured Home Installation In Flood Hazard Areas, published by FEMA. 
Proposed law provides that for all installations in Louisiana, the lowest finished floor shall
be the top of the Chassis I-Beam. Further provides that for all purposes related to the
National Flood Insurance Program, all state and local plans shall reference and use the top
of the chassis I-Beam as the lowest finished floor.
