A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend K'Lavon Chaisson on an outstanding 2019 season with the Louisiana State
University Fighting Tigers football team.
WHEREAS, K'Lavon Chaisson played outside linebacker for the Louisiana State
University (LSU) Fighting Tigers football team; and
WHEREAS, a native of Houston, Texas, he attended North Shore High School, was
one of the top defensive ends in the country, and graduated with a 3.3 grade point average;
and
WHEREAS, K'Lavon played in twenty-six games with seventeen starts in his three
years with the Tigers and capped his career with ninety-two tackles, nineteen tackles for loss,
and nine and one-half sacks; and
WHEREAS, he was named First Team All-SEC in 2019 and Freshman All-SEC in
2017; and
WHEREAS, he was a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, earned
Defensive Most Valuable Player honors in LSU's Chick-fil-A Bowl/CFP National Semifinal
win over the University of Oklahoma in December 2019, and wore the No. 18 jersey in
2019; and
WHEREAS, K'Lavon is another in a long line of Houston area players to make an
impact at LSU; and
WHEREAS, he opted to forgo his final two seasons of eligibility at LSU and entered
the 2020 NFL Draft; and

WHEREAS, K'Lavon Chaisson is a talented athlete who demonstrates impeccable
leadership and a commitment to excellence on the gridiron and in the classroom that is truly
commendable; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting to herald the achievements of accomplished young men like
K'Lavon Chaisson, a model student and athlete who represents the best and brightest of his
generation and who is deserving of the honors bestowed upon him as a member of the
Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers football team.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate K'Lavon Chaisson on an outstanding 2019 football season as
outside linebacker for the Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers, does hereby record for
posterity the pride and honor that he brings to his family, friends, community, the state of
Texas, the state of Louisiana, and the United States of America, and does hereby extend to
him best wishes for continued success and happiness in all of his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
K'Lavon Chaisson.
