A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend Justin Jefferson on an outstanding 2019 season with the Louisiana State
University Fighting Tigers football team and on being the new record holder for
receptions in a single season.
WHEREAS, Justin Jefferson attended Destrehan High School in Destrehan,
Louisiana, and committed to Louisiana State University (LSU) to play college football as
a wide receiver; and
WHEREAS, as a junior in 2019, he led the country with one hundred eleven
receptions, his eighteen receiving touchdowns ranked second in the country, and his one
thousand five hundred forty receiving yards were third most; and
WHEREAS, Justin had a historic performance in the Peach Bowl, catching fourteen
passes for two hundred twenty-seven yards and four touchdowns; and
WHEREAS, all four touchdowns came in the first half and set a College Football
Playoff game record and tied the record for any bowl game; and
WHEREAS, on January 15, 2020, Justin announced that he would forgo his senior
season and enter the NFL Draft; and
WHEREAS, Justin Jefferson is a talented athlete who demonstrates impeccable
leadership and a commitment to excellence that is truly commendable; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting to herald the achievements of Louisiana's accomplished
young men like Justin Jefferson, a model citizen who represents the best and brightest of the
state and who is deserving of the honors bestowed upon him as a member of the Louisiana
State University Fighting Tigers football team.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend and congratulate Justin Jefferson on an outstanding 2019 football season as a wide
receiver for the Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers, does hereby record for posterity
the pride and honor that he brings to his family, friends, community, the state of Louisiana,
and the United States of America, and does hereby extend to him best wishes for continued
success and happiness in all of his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Justin Jefferson.
