1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 40:539(C)(8)(k), relative to employees of the Simmesport Housing Authority;
3 to provide that employees of the authority shall not be in the state civil service; and
4 to provide for related matters.
5 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
6 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
7 Louisiana.
8 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1. R.S. 40:539(C)(8)(k) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
10 ยง539. Selection of chairman and vice chairman; executive director; hiring of
11 employees

17 (k) Notwithstanding any provision of Subparagraph (a) of this Paragraph or
18 of any other law to the contrary, the Simmesport Housing Authority shall not be
19 considered an instrumentality of the state for purposes of Article X, Section 1(A) of
