1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 56:1855(M)(2) and (P)(1)(introductory paragraph), relative to
3 the Louisiana Scenic Rivers Act; to provide for certain permitting exceptions for
4 operations in Bayou Manchac; to extend the period for which the Comite River is
5 exempt from certain statutory requirements; and to provide for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 56:1855(M)(2) and (P)(1)(introductory paragraph) are hereby
8 amended and reenacted to read as follows:

13 (2) Notwithstanding other provisions of R.S. 56:1853, clearing and snagging,
14 and dredging operations for drainage purposes, in Bayou Manchac shall be permitted
15 by the department in accordance with the requirements and procedures provided for
16 in R.S. 56:1849. However, beginning May 1, 2021, through August 1, 2026, no
17 provision of this Part shall require a permit for a local government to conduct
18 clearing and snagging and dredging operations for drainage purposes in Bayou
19 Manchac.
