STUDENTS: Requests the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education to develop
a plan for providing school literacy coaches for students in kindergarten through second
grade in elementary schools identified as needing improvement
Synopsis of Senate Amendments
1.Remove requirements for BESE to consult with and submit plan to the
commissioner of administration.
2.Change plan submission deadline from Sept. 30, 2021, to Dec. 31, 2021.
Digest of Bill as Finally Passed by Senate
Requests the State Bd. of Elementary and Secondary Education to develop a plan for
providing school literacy coaches for certain students by Dec. 31, 2001, and to report
regarding implementation to the governor and the legislature twice before the end of 2025.
