HOUSE SUMMARY OF SENATE AMENDMENTS
HCR 40	2021 Regular Session	Schexnayder
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:  Directs the Department of Economic Development and the
State Board of Commerce and Industry to suspend certain tax incentives, subsidies, and other
public financial support for certain utility scale solar projects
Synopsis of Senate Amendments
1.Changes Resolution from a Resolution directing the Department of Economic
Development and the State Board of Commerce and Industry to suspend certain
tax incentives to a Resolution urging and requesting it to suspend certain tax
incentives.
2.Adds that the suspension of the tax incentives shall be until 30 days after final
adjournment of the 2022 Regular Session.
3.Adds that this rResolution affects utility scale solar projects with advance
notifications filed on or after July 1, 2021 that are not initiated by the Louisiana
Energy and Power Authority or a municipal-owned electric system in addition
to those that are not subject to review and approval by the Louisiana Public
Service Commission and the New Orleans city council.
4.Makes a technical change.

of Commerce and Industry to suspend the Louisiana Industrial Ad Valorem Tax Exemption
Program and other tax incentives, subsidies, and other public financial support relative to
certain utility scale solar projects until 30 days after final adjournment of the 2022 Regular
Session of the Legislature.
