HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 54
BY REPRESENTATIVE SCHEXNAYDER AND SENATORS LAMBERT, POPE, AND
PRICE
A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend the members of the board of directors of the Louisiana School Boards
Association.
WHEREAS, the Louisiana School Boards Association represents the six hundred
thirty-five elected school board members of the sixty-nine locally elected school boards in
the state of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana School Boards Association is governed by a board of
directors that is made up of local school board members who are elected by their peers from
the state; and
WHEREAS, in addition to their service to their respective local school boards, the
members of the board of directors of the Louisiana School Boards Association volunteer
their time to promote, support, and advocate on behalf of Louisiana's sixty-nine locally
elected school boards; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana School Boards Association is holding its annual Capitol
Conference to promote advocacy for public education with the Legislature of Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, the 2021 officers of the Louisiana School Boards Association are
president, Patricia Russo of the Ascension Parish School Board; president-elect, Melvin
Lodge of the Iberville Parish School Board; vice-president, Rose Dominguez of the
Tangipahoa Parish School Board; immediate past-president, George Nassar of the St. James
Parish School Board; and executive director, Dr. Janet Pope; and

WHEREAS, the members of the board of directors of the Louisiana School Boards
Association are most deserving of recognition for their hard work and dedication to the
school boards of our state and to public education.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend the members of the board of directors of the Louisiana School Boards
Association; does hereby recognize their commitment to education through their service on
local school boards and on the association's board of directors; and does hereby extend
sincere hopes for the continued success of the Louisiana School Boards Association.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
president of the Louisiana School Boards Association.
