HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 141
BY REPRESENTATIVES CREWS, HORTON, JENKINS, MCCORMICK, MCMAHEN,

A RESOLUTION
To commend Kylie Small on being named the 2021 Bossier Parish Middle School Student
of the Year and her selection as a finalist for the 2021 Louisiana Middle School
Student of the Year.
WHEREAS, Kylie is an eighth grader at Haughton Middle School and is one of
seven students from around the state chosen to compete in the Louisiana Middle School
Student of the Year competition; and
WHEREAS, students are chosen based on criteria that measure academic
achievement, leadership skills, character, and service to their schools and communities; and
WHEREAS, Kylie serves as a Red Jacket ambassador at her school, and she is also
captain of the cheerleading team and an NCA All-American Cheerleader; she is vice
president of her school's student council, a district winner in cross country, and a performer
in Bossier Schools' Talented Theater program; and
WHEREAS, Kylie also earned perfect scores in math and English and language arts
on the LEAP test; and
WHEREAS, Kylie Small is most deserving of recognition for her incredible
achievements this school year.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Kylie Small on being named the 2021
Bossier Parish Middle School Student of the Year and her selection as a finalist for the 2021
Louisiana Middle School Student of the Year and does hereby extend sincere hopes for her
continued success as she begins high school.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of Bossier Parish Middle School.
