HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 143
BY REPRESENTATIVES CREWS, HORTON, JENKINS, MCCORMICK, MCMAHEN,
AND PRESSLY
A RESOLUTION
To commend the Bossier Parish Community College softball team on winning the National
Junior College Athletic Association 2021 Division I Region XIV East Conference
championship.
WHEREAS, the Lady Cavalier softball team from Bossier Parish Community
College had a record-setting 2020-2021 season; the team finished with a program single-
season record forty-six wins and boasted a program-best conference record of twenty-three
wins and one loss; the team also set the program record with a twenty-one game win streak
and finished undefeated at home with a record of twenty-two wins and zero losses; and
WHEREAS, for the first time in program history, the Lady Cavalier softball team
finished as runner-up at the NJCAA Division I Region XIV Regional Tournament; and
WHEREAS, Lady Cavalier pitcher Primrose Aholelei pitched a perfect game and
was named NJCAA Division I National Pitcher of the Week for her performance; and
WHEREAS, the team also had four LSWA Player of the Week selections:  Mabry
Smith, Dyllan Sanay, Kiana Pogroszewski, and Uchenna Jong Loy; and
WHEREAS, Lady Cavalier Head Coach Amanda Nordberg earned her two-
hundredth career victory during the season; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Cavaliers hit a team-record one hundred six home runs; they
also set the NJCAA record for most home runs in an inning with six; the pitching staff
combined for a program-best four hundred four strikeouts, and on the offensive side, the
team also hit a program-record four hundred sixty-four RBIs; and

WHEREAS, numerous members of the team also set program records throughout the
season; Kennedy Cox set the single-season record for triples in a season; Mabry Smith set
the single-game strikeout record with fourteen; Uchenna Jong Loy tied the single-season
record for hits with eighty-eight and also had the team's highest batting average; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Cavaliers finished the season at number eight in the NJCAA
Division I National Rankings, and the team also set a program record by ranking among the
top twenty NJCAA Division I teams each week of the season; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavalier
softball team are most deserving of the highest recognition for their incredible, record-setting
season.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Bossier Parish Community College
softball team on winning the National Junior College Athletic Association 2021 Division I
Region XIV East Conference championship; does hereby recognize the incredible individual
and team performances of the Lady Cavaliers throughout the 2020-2021 season; and does
hereby extend sincere wishes for the team's continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
chancellor of Bossier Parish Community College.
