HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 165
BY REPRESENTATIVE BOURRIAQUE
A RESOLUTION
To commend the North Vermilion High School baseball team on winning the Louisiana
High School Athletic Association 2021 Class 4A state championship.
WHEREAS, the third-ranked North Vermilion Patriots baseball team defeated top-
ranked Tioga to capture their first state championship since 1994; and
WHEREAS, North Vermilion pitcher John Touchet was named the Most Outstanding
Player of the championship game; he was a dominant force all season for the Patriots, and
he improved his season record to 12-0 after the championship victory; and
WHEREAS, the Patriots finished the season with thirty-three wins and seven losses,
and the team has a bright future as a majority of its starters are sophomores and juniors; and
WHEREAS, the North Vermilion Patriots baseball team is most deserving of
recognition for capturing their first state title in nearly thirty years.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the North Vermilion High School baseball
team on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Class 4A state
championship; does hereby recognize Coach Jeremy Trahan for leading the Patriots to a
championship victory; and does hereby extend sincere hopes for the continued success of
the team.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of North Vermilion High School.
