HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 175

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Lusher Charter School boys' soccer team on winning the Louisiana High
School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state championship.
WHEREAS, the second-ranked Lusher Charter School Lions boys' soccer team
defeated fifth-ranked E.D. White Cardinals at Strawberry Stadium in Hammond to capture
the 2021 Division III state championship; and
WHEREAS, Lusher scored the first and final goals of a title game that featured two
district rivals with matching skill sets; although the Lions only held a one goal lead at
halftime, they were in total command of the game; E.D. White overcame their slow start to
tie the game at 1-1, but Lusher managed to score a late-game winner to cap off their
championship season; and
WHEREAS, Lusher senior keeper Jourdan Schumacher was named the title game's
Most Valuable Player; he held the Cardinals to a single goal and saved a potentially
momentum-shifting penalty shot early in the second half; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Lusher Charter School boys' soccer team are most
deserving of recognition for their amazing accomplishment.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Lusher Charter School boys' soccer team
on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2021 Division III state
championship and does hereby extend sincere hopes that the members of the team enjoy
success in their future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of Lusher Charter School.
