HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 192
BY REPRESENTATIVE FREEMAN
A RESOLUTION
To urge and request the legislature and all offices in the state capitol to encourage
participation in reduction of waste and recycling programs.
WHEREAS, R.S. 30:2415(H) requires each branch of state government to adopt a
recycling program with emphasis on single stream recycling so as to increase compliance;
and
WHEREAS, the legislature believes that all areas of state government should be
leaders in waste reduction and recycling and demonstrate the benefits of adopting such
practices; and
WHEREAS, numerous agencies have offices in the state capitol; and
WHEREAS, the state has a contract with Republic Services, Inc., for recycling pick-
up at the state capitol; and
WHEREAS, the contract provides pick-up of paper, plastic, and aluminum or metal,
etc.; and
WHEREAS, the legislature, the governor's office, and the other agencies with offices
in the state capitol should be setting the example for other state agencies to follow regarding
recycling.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request all offices in the state capitol to
encourage participation in reduction of waste and recycling programs.
