HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 46

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team on winning the 2021 Louisiana
High School Athletic Association Class 1A state championship.
WHEREAS, the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team defeated White Castle
High School, 51-38, to claim the 2021 LHSAA Class 1A state championship at Burton
Coliseum in Lake Charles; and
WHEREAS, senior Khyrese Taylor scored fifteen points, grabbed six rebounds, and
was selected as the Most Outstanding Player; and
WHEREAS, the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team finished the 2020-2021
season with a 19-1 record overall and an 8-0 record in district games; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team were
model ambassadors for the town of Arcadia throughout the season, and their efforts have
earned them a state championship title; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Marcus Jackson and the entire coaching staff, along with
the supporters of the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team played an important role
in the team's championship run through their unwavering guidance and support; and
WHEREAS, the Arcadia High School boys' basketball team is most deserving of
recognition for their incredible season.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Arcadia High School boys' basketball
team on winning the 2021 Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 1A state
championship and does hereby extend sincere hopes that the team continue to enjoy the same
success for many years to come.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of Arcadia High School.
