HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 62

A RESOLUTION
To commend Louisiana Tech University for its encouragement of campus-wide healthy tech
use on Digital Wellness Day, May 7, 2021.
WHEREAS, the inaugural Digital Wellness Day was hosted by the Digital Wellness
Collective in 2020 and reached over one million people worldwide; the mission of Digital
Wellness Day is to empower individuals, communities, and organizations with research-
based tools and strategies to flourish in a digital age; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana Tech University is holding a campus-wide event on Digital
Wellness Day to encourage healthy tech use; the co-chairs of the event are LA Tech students
Emily Seabaugh and Karoline Holmes; and
WHEREAS, Digital Wellness Day provides an opportunity to highlight both best
practices in digital wellness and how technology can help bring people together; Louisiana
Tech University is most deserving of recognition for promoting Digital Wellness Day,
especially in light of the recent period of isolation brought about by the COVID-19
pandemic.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Louisiana Tech University for its
encouragement of campus-wide healthy tech use on Digital Wellness Day, May 7, 2021, and
does hereby extend sincere hopes for its success in building healthy relationships on this
year's Digital Wellness Day.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
president of Louisiana Tech University.
