ENROLLED 2021 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 70 BY REPRESENTATIVES WILLARD AND FRIEMAN A RESOLUTION To commend Brother Martin High School on winning the 2021 Louisiana High School Athletic Association boys' bowling championship. WHEREAS, the Brother Martin High School Crusaders captured the school's fifth state championship in boys' bowling by defeating Central of Baton Rouge 21.5-5.5 in the final match of the LHSAA State Bowling Playoffs; and WHEREAS, the Crusaders' dominating championship victory came on the heels of a thrilling semifinals upset over top-seeded Catholic High School of Baton Rouge; and WHEREAS, the Crusaders were led by its three-time state champion, Drew Gardner, along with Andre Hoyeula and Ricky Carmona; and WHEREAS, with this victory, Brother Martin High School becomes the first Louisiana high school to win five state bowling championships; the win also marks the school's third-consecutive state title; and WHEREAS, Brother Martin High School is most deserving of recognition for its recent dominance of Louisiana high school boys' bowling. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Brother Martin High School on winning the 2021 Louisiana High School Athletic Association boys' bowling championship; does hereby recognize the school for setting the record for Louisiana high school bowling state titles; and does hereby extend sincere hopes for the continued success of the Brother Martin High School boys' bowling program.
