HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 78
BY REPRESENTATIVE MUSCARELLO
A RESOLUTION
To commend Dr. Chris J. Leumas on the occasion of his retirement.
WHEREAS, Dr. Leumas received his medical degree in June 1981 from Louisiana
State University Medical School in New Orleans; he completed his internship and residency
at Earl K. Long Memorial Hospital in Baton Rouge from July 1981 to June 1984; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Leumas joined the North Oaks Pediatric Clinic on September 19,
1984; for the past thirty-seven years, he has provided pediatric medical care for the children
of Hammond and nearby communities; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Dr. Leumas was highly involved in the North
Oaks clinic; he served on the OB/Pediatrics Steering Committee, the Utilization Committee,
the Medical Executive Committee, the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, and the
Bylaws Committee; he served as the chairman of the Bylaws Committee from 1999 through
2016; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Leumas's commitment to his patients earned him the honor of being
named the North Oaks Physician of the Year in 2011; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Chris J. Leumas is most deserving of recognition for his thirty-seven
years of pediatric medical care in the Hammond area.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Dr. Chris J. Leumas on the occasion of his
retirement; does hereby recognize Dr. Leumas's dedication to the health of children; and
does hereby extend sincere hopes that he enjoy a fulfilling retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Dr.
Chris J. Leumas.
