1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 4:3, relative to the playing or singing of the national anthem prior to certain
3 athletic events; to provide for requirements; and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. R.S. 4:3 is hereby enacted to read as follows:
6 ยง3. Playing or singing of the national anthem at certain athletic contests
7 No competitive athletic event may be held in a venue, the construction,
8 operation, or maintenance of which is financed wholly or partially by the state
9 or a political subdivision of the state, unless the event is preceded by the playing
10 or singing of the national anthem.
