WHEREAS, like much of Louisiana, the severe winter weather closed the usual operations of CNC Oilfield Services on the evening of February 16, 2021; and WHEREAS, the owner of CNC Oilfield Services, Mr. Colton Sanders, learned that area hospitals were unable to heat their facilities as their boilers were rendered inoperable due to the disruption of the city's water services; and WHEREAS, this knowledge weighed on Mr. Sanders, knowing the suffering of the patients would be intensified and the difficulties of the hospital staff would increase with the drastically dropping temperatures in the Shreveport area; and WHEREAS, Mr. Sanders, along with his employees, recognized their duty to their community and mobilized the company's trucks that usually haul water to drilling sites, but instead hauled water to Christus Schumpert, Ochsner LSU Health, Willis-Knighton Pierremont, Willis-Knighton North, and Progressive Care Center, and successfully restored the heat; and WHEREAS, these water transportation operations took place in record-breaking one degree Fahrenheit temperature as they worked alongside Louisiana National Guardsmen. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby acknowledge with gratitude and commend Mr. Colton Sanders for his outstanding leadership and the selfless service of Mr. Sanders and his employees in rendering aid and assistance during the devastating winter storm of February 2021.
