SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 38

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To recognize January 22, 2022, as the Day of Tears in Louisiana and to encourage Louisiana
citizens to lower their flags to half-staff to mourn the innocent, pre-born children
who have lost their lives due to abortion.
WHEREAS, on January 22, 1973, the majority of the members of the United States
Supreme Court erroneously ruled that abortion was a right secured by the Constitution of the
United States of America; and
WHEREAS, since that ill-fated day, over sixty-one million pre-born children in the
United States have perished.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
recognize January 22, 2022, as the Day of Tears in Louisiana and encourage Louisiana
citizens to lower their flags to half-staff to mourn the innocent, unborn children who have
lost their lives due to abortion.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Anne Fitzgerald, executive director of Day of Tears.
