SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 39

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of
Bradley Dewayne Cryer, assistant legislative auditor.
WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
Legislature of Louisiana have learned of the unexpected passing of Brad Cryer on April 10,
2021, at the age of forty-seven; and 
WHEREAS, born on March 5, 1974, Brad Cryer of Denham Springs, Louisiana,
worked for the state of Louisiana for twenty-five years, most recently as assistant legislative
auditor; and 
WHEREAS, he was a vital part of the leadership of the Louisiana Legislative
Auditor's office, a man of great integrity who gave his best effort daily, and a role model for
other staff; and 
WHEREAS, Brad Cryer loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, and listening to
music; and 
WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elbert Midkiff
Jr.; and 
WHEREAS, Bradley Dewayne Cryer is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann
Cryer; children, Dylan Cryer, Jennifer and Hannah Peterson; his soon-to-be-born
granddaughter Ayla Cryer; parents, Jerry and Linda Midkiff Cryer; sister and brother-in-law,
Wendy and Henry Squires; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl "C.B." and Lisa Barnett;
maternal grandmother, Lena Midkiff; his beloved cats, Kim and Rita; and all the members
and friends of the EBR Hunting Club; and

WHEREAS, he was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend who will be
missed dearly by all who knew him; and
WHEREAS, Bradley Dewayne Cryer was an extraordinary public servant who shall
be remembered for the admirable way in which he used his talents and resources for the
betterment of his state and the welfare of its people.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby 
express sincere condolences upon the death of Bradley Dewayne Cryer, assistant legislative
auditor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to his
wife, Mary Ann Cryer.
