SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 106

A RESOLUTION
To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the
death of Marie Dixon Wallace.
WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the
Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana have learned of the passing of Marie Dixon Wallace
on May 13, 2021, at the age of eighty; and
WHEREAS, Marie Dixon Wallace was a native of Zachary, Louisiana, and a resident
of Baker, Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Wallace; her parents;
and three brothers; and
WHEREAS, Marie Dixon Wallace is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline W. Webb
(Reginald), Janice W. Hayes (Willie L. Jr.), Colethia W. Kent (Aaron Sr.), and Karen W.
Grant (Clifford); six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Albert Dixon Jr.
(Betty); and
WHEREAS, she was a kind person with a beautiful soul and a loving and caring
mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby express sincere condolences to the family of Marie Dixon Wallace on the
occasion of her death.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Jacqueline W. Webb.
