SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 206

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Kylie Small on being selected as the 2021 Bossier Parish
Middle School Student of the Year and a finalist for the 2021 Louisiana Middle School
Student of the Year.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Kylie Small on being selected as the 2021 Bossier Parish Middle School
3 Student of the Year and on being a finalist for the 2021 Louisiana Middle School
4 Student of the Year.
5 WHEREAS, Kylie Small is an eighth grader at Haughton Middle School in Bossier
6 Parish; and
7 WHEREAS, she is one of seven students from the state to be selected as a finalist in
8 the Louisiana Middle School Student of the Year annual competition which selects students
9 based on criteria that measures academic achievement, leadership skills, character, and
10 service to their schools and community; and
11 WHEREAS, at Haughton Middle School, Kylie serves as a Red Jacket school
12 ambassador, captain of the cheerleading team, and vice president of the student council; and
13 WHEREAS, she is also a district winner in cross country running, a performer in
14 Bossier School's Talented Arts Theater program, and has achieved perfect scores in math and
15 English language arts on the LEAP test; and
16 WHEREAS, Kylie Small has demonstrated a commitment to excellence that is
17 commendable in a person of her youth and she is most deserving of the title she has earned
18 as 2021 Bossier Parish Middle School Student of the Year and on being a finalist for the

2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
3 does hereby commend Kylie Small on being selected as the 2021 Bossier Parish Middle
4 School Student of the Year and on being a finalist for the 2021 Louisiana Middle School
5 Student of the Year.
6 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to Kylie
7 Small.
