SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 206

A RESOLUTION
To commend Kylie Small on being selected as the 2021 Bossier Parish Middle School
Student of the Year and on being a finalist for the 2021 Louisiana Middle School
Student of the Year.
WHEREAS, Kylie Small is an eighth grader at Haughton Middle School in Bossier
Parish; and
WHEREAS, she is one of seven students from the state to be selected as a finalist in
the Louisiana Middle School Student of the Year annual competition which selects students
based on criteria that measures academic achievement, leadership skills, character, and
service to their schools and community; and
WHEREAS, at Haughton Middle School, Kylie serves as a Red Jacket school
ambassador, captain of the cheerleading team, and vice president of the student council; and
WHEREAS, she is also a district winner in cross country running, a performer in
Bossier School's Talented Arts Theater program, and has achieved perfect scores in math and
English language arts on the LEAP test; and
WHEREAS, Kylie Small has demonstrated a commitment to excellence that is
commendable in a person of her youth and she is most deserving of the title she has earned
as 2021 Bossier Parish Middle School Student of the Year and on being a finalist for the
2021 Louisiana Middle School Student of the Year.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend Kylie Small on being selected as the 2021 Bossier Parish Middle
School Student of the Year and on being a finalist for the 2021 Louisiana Middle School
Student of the Year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Kylie Small.
