2021 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 236 BY SENATOR CORTEZ A RESOLUTION To urge and request the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal of Louisiana to submit recommendations for redistricting the districts of the court based upon the 2020 federal decennial census. WHEREAS, following the release of the 2020 federal decennial census redistricting data, the legislature may redistrict the election districts established by law for courts in this state; and WHEREAS, R.S. 13:312(4)(b) divides the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal into three election districts; and WHEREAS, in the exercise of its authority, the Senate seeks recommendations from the court regarding redistricting the election districts of the court based upon the 2020 federal decennial census. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby urge and request the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal to submit recommendations for redistricting the election districts of the court based upon the 2020 federal census to the Senate no later than December 31, 2021. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall be transmitted to the Chief Judge of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal of Louisiana. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE Page 1 of 1
