1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 17:2926(A)(4), relative to curricula; to provide for advising of students; to
3 provide for the scheduling of advanced courses; and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. R.S. 17:2926(A)(4) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
6 ยง2926. Student counseling; training and professional development
7 A. The State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education shall develop
8 an advisement policy for the middle and high school grades that local school districts
9 can use to equip school counselors with the skills and information needed to:

11 (4) Inform and assist students and their parents in the selection and
12 scheduling of advanced courses and early college opportunities, such as dual
13 enrollment, advanced placement, Cambridge, or international baccalaureate courses,
14 as educational options.
