HOUSE BILL NO. 461
BY REPRESENTATIVE JORDAN
COURTS/MAYORS:  Provides relative to mayors' courts
1	AN ACT
2To repeal Subpart G of Part I of Chapter 2 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of
3 1950, comprised of R.S. 33:441 through 457, relative to mayors' courts; to abolish
4 all mayors' courts; and to provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 33:441 through 457 are hereby repealed in their entirety.
7 Section 2.  The provisions of this Act abolishing mayors' courts shall not be
8construed to abolish the office of mayor in any city, town, or village.

Abstract: Abolishes all mayors' courts.
Present law provides for the creation of mayors' courts in various towns, cities, and villages.
Proposed law repeals present law.
Proposed law provides that the provisions of proposed law abolishing mayors' courts shall
not be construed to abolish the office of mayor in any city, town, or village.
