HIGHWAYS/INTERSTATE: Designates a certain portion of Interstate Highway 20 in
Webster Parish as the "Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway"
1 AN ACT
2To designate mile markers 40 through 43, east and westbound, of Interstate Highway 20 in
3 Webster Parish as the "Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway"; and to provide for
4 related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. The portion of Interstate Highway 20 in Webster Parish from mile
7markers 40 through 43, east and westbound, shall be known and is hereby designated as the
8"Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway".
9 Section 2. The Department of Transportation and Development or its contractors are
10hereby directed to erect and maintain appropriate signage reflecting this designation
11provided local or private monies are received by the department equal to the department's
12actual costs for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and installation of each sign, not to
13exceed the sum of one thousand six hundred eighty dollars per sign.

Directs the Dept. of Transportation and Development (DOTD) to erect and maintain
appropriate signage reflecting this highway designation provided local or private monies are
received by the DOTD equal to its actual costs for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and
installation of each sign, not to exceed the sum of $1,680 per sign.

Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Transportation,
Highways and Public Works to the original bill:
1. Change the designation of the "Vietnam Veterans Memorial Interchange" to the
"Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway". Additionally, change the location of
the signage from Exit 44 in Webster Parish on Interstate Highway 20 to mile
markers 40 through 43, east and westbound, of Interstate Highway 20 in Webster
Parish.
2. Increase the actual costs for material, fabrication, mounting posts, and
installation of each sign from five hundred fifty dollars to one thousand six
hundred eighty dollars.
