HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 172

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Vandebilt Catholic High School baseball team on winning the Louisiana
High School Athletic Association 2022 Division II state championship.
WHEREAS, the Vandebilt Catholic High School Terriers baseball team captured the
2022 Division II state title by handily defeating University High School, 12-2, in the
championship game in Hammond, Louisiana, on May 14, 2022; and
WHEREAS, the Terriers forced a six-inning run-rule victory in the championship
match, giving the team a fitting end to its incredibly dominant season; and
WHEREAS, the Terriers were led by Head Coach Chad Menard and a host of
exceptionally talented young men; during the championship, the team was led in hitting by
Eli David, Diego and Dominic Archila, and Justin Caro; on the mound, the team was led by
pitcher Owen Schexnaydre; and
WHEREAS, the Vandebilt Catholic High School baseball team is most deserving of
the highest recognition for its incredible season.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Vandebilt Catholic High School baseball
team on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2022 Division II state
championship and does hereby extend sincere wishes that the team's players and coaches
continue their incredible work and always strive for greatness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
principal of Vandebilt Catholic High School.
