1 AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 22:1892(A)(6), relative to insurance claims; to provide for limitations on the
3 number of adjusters on a single insurance claim; and to provide for related matters.
4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
5 Section 1. R.S. 22:1892(A)(6) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
6 ยง1892. Payment and adjustment of claims, policies other than life and health and
7 accident; vehicle damage claims; extension of time to respond to
8 claims during emergency or disaster; penalties; arson-related claims
9 suspension; limit on number of adjusters

11 (6) All insurers shall limit the number of adjusters on a single claim to
12 three adjusters.

Present law provides the requirements placed on certain insurers relative to the payment and
adjustment of claims.
Proposed law retains present law and adds that all insurers must limit the number of
adjusters on a single claim to three adjusters.
Effective August 1, 2022.
