Present law provides for requirements of certificates of title, salvage title, antique vehicles, and
reconstructed titles.
Proposed law retains present law and further provides a notarized signature shall not be required for
transfer of ownership of vehicles to an insurer as a result of total loss claim.
Proposed law further provides a notarized signature shall not be required for supporting documents
used to transfer ownership of a vehicle to an insurer resulting from the settlement of a total loss
claim if signed electronically at a National Institute of Standards (NIST) Level 2 or higher
authentication.
Effective August 1, 2022.
