SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 110

A RESOLUTION
To commend and congratulate Jana Garrison Orillion on her induction into the Louisiana
High School Sports Hall of Fame.
WHEREAS, a member of the Class of 2021 Denham Springs High School Athletic
Hall of Fame, Sid Garrison founded the tennis program at Denham Springs High School in
1983 and served as its first coach for twelve seasons; and
WHEREAS, born with tennis in her blood Coach Sid's daughter, Jana Garrison
Orillion, was named to the 2022 Class of the Louisiana High School Sports Hall of Fame;
and
WHEREAS, during her tennis career at Denham Springs High, Jana Garrison
Orillion compiled a 65-1 record, becoming the state's top-ranked tennis player in singles and
doubles for four straight years; and
WHEREAS, with over thirty offers from colleges across the nation, Garrison signed
to play at Louisiana State University but before her senior year she transferred to Northern
Illinois University where she won conference singles and doubles championships; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of her abilities and talents, Jana Garrison Orillion was
inducted into the 2022 Class of the Louisiana High School Sports Hall of Fame on
April 12, 2022.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Jana Garrison Orillion on being inducted into the
Louisiana High School Sports Hall of Fame.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Jana Garrison Orillion.
