SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 125
BY SENATOR FIELDS
A RESOLUTION
To congratulate Eric Brown on graduating from Madison Preparatory Academy of Baton
Rouge and to commend him on his many accomplishments.
WHEREAS, graduating from high school is an important milestone in a student's life
that signifies success in academics and the achievement of one's goals; and
WHEREAS, graduating from high school is one of the most important indicators of
future success in life, including employment prospects, income potential, and overall health;
and
WHEREAS, Eric Brown is set to graduate from Madison Preparatory Academy of
Baton Rouge in the spring of 2022, and it is appropriate to recognize him for all of his
accomplishments throughout his high school career; and
WHEREAS, Eric has worked diligently to prepare himself for college by
participating in the Louisiana State University Upward Bound college preparatory program;
and
WHEREAS, Eric has been a dedicated member of the Louisiana Leadership Institute
throughout his high school career and actively participates in Saturday Class, where students
learn about various topics such as politics, current events, public speaking, interpersonal
skills, and much more; and
WHEREAS, most recently, Eric won the Louisiana Leadership 2022 Black History
Essay Contest where he competed against some of the finest students in the Baton Rouge
area; and
WHEREAS, Eric will attend Southern University Agricultural and Mechanical
College of Baton Rouge, where he plans to study rehabilitation; and
WHEREAS, Eric Brown exemplifies the very best of students in the class of 2022
and his future holds incredible promise; and

WHEREAS, through his academic achievements and his involvement with the
Louisiana Leadership Institute, Eric has formed a solid foundation which will serve him well
in his future endeavors.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Eric Brown on becoming a 2022 graduate of
Madison Preparatory Academy of Baton Rouge.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Eric Brown.
