SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 15
BY SENATOR REESE 
A RESOLUTION
To commend Della Laughlin Bush for her many years of exemplary public service to the
parish of Vernon and to congratulate her on the occasion of her retirement from the
Vernon Parish Clerk of Court.
WHEREAS, Della Laughlin Bush, a resident of Anacoco, Louisiana, has been
married to Delbert Bush for over forty-four years and together they have raised three
remarkable children; and
WHEREAS, Della is active in her community, church, and cemetery board; and
WHEREAS, Della began her career in the legal field in 1979 when she became
employed at a local law firm in Vernon Parish; and
WHEREAS, in 2002, Della began her employment with the Vernon Parish Clerk of
Court; and
WHEREAS, Della has worked for twenty years as a minute clerk for Division B of
the Thirtieth Judicial District Court, initially with the Honorable John C. Ford, and recently
with the Honorable C. Anthony Eaves; and
WHEREAS, Della is an outstanding member of the Vernon Parish legal community
with whom many attorneys and elected officials regularly consult, indicating the high value
placed on her opinion; and
WHEREAS, Della is an inspiration to the Vernon Parish legal community and merits
the highest commendation and most sincere congratulations for her exemplary service and
the tremendous pride, honor, and joy that she portrayed in doing forty-three years of her job.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend and congratulate Della Laughlin Bush on her retirement from the
Vernon Parish Clerk of Court and extend best wishes for continued success and happiness
in all of her future endeavors.
