2022 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 190 BY SENATOR CORTEZ A RESOLUTION To commend Bobby Hebert, a World War II Navy veteran, upon the celebration of his 100th birthday. WHEREAS, D. J. "Bobby" Hebert, a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, was born August 4, 1922; and WHEREAS, Bobby worked as a boat builder prior to serving as a Seabee in the South Pacific during World War II; and WHEREAS, Bobby returned to Lafayette after the war and continued his work as a boat builder; and WHEREAS, Bobby left the boat building business and partnered with his cousin, Henry Hebert, to grow Top's Woodwork in Lafayette into a well-respected home and commercial building business in Acadiana; and WHEREAS, Bobby continued to build and expand Top's Woodwork until the two cousins retired and sold the business; and WHEREAS, Bobby married the love of his life, Dorothy, and together they had five children: one son and four daughters; and WHEREAS, Bobby enjoys being on the water whether it is to saltwater fish or for an afternoon boat ride. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend D. J. "Bobby" Hebert upon the celebration of his 100th birthday.
