MEDICAID: Provides relative to funding for reimbursement of emergency ambulance transportation services 1 AN ACT 2To enact R.S. 46:460.55, relative to emergency ambulance transportation services; to 3 establish reimbursement provisions; to prohibit the use of certain funds for 4 emergency ambulance transportation provider reimbursement; and to provide for 5 related matters. 6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. R.S. 46:460.55 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 8 ยง460.55. Emergency transportation funding 9 Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, no state general funds or federal 10 funds appropriated to the Louisiana Department of Health may be used to reimburse 11 emergency ambulance providers for services provided to Medicaid beneficiaries 12 through managed care. Such appropriated funds may only be used to reimburse 13 emergency ambulance transportation providers directly by the Louisiana Department 14 of Health on a fee-for-service basis.
