DISTRICTS/SPECIAL: Provides for the Delta Agriculture Research and Sustainability
District
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 3:341(D) and to enact R.S. 3:342(J), relative to the Delta
3 Agriculture Research and Sustainability District; to provide for district boundaries;
4 to provide for personal immunity of board members; and to provide for related
5 matters.
6 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
7 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
8 Louisiana.
9Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
10 Section 1. R.S. 3:341(D) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S. 3:342(J) is
11hereby enacted to read as follows:
12 §341. Delta Agriculture Research and Sustainability District; creation; purpose;
13 territorial jurisdiction

15 D. The boundaries of the district shall be coterminous with the boundaries
16 of the parishes of Concordia, East Carroll, Madison, and Tensas.
17 §342. Board of commissioners; members; officers; personal immunity

19 J. The board, its members, and its agents shall be immune from personal
20 liability for actions taken in good faith in the discharge of the board's responsibilities.

1 The state shall hold the board, its members, and its agents harmless from all costs,
2 damages, and attorney fees arising from claims and suits against them with respect
3 to matters to which such immunity applies.

Abstract: Provides for the boundaries of the Delta Agriculture Research and Sustainability
District and immunity for certain district personnel.
Present law (R.S. 3:341(D)) establishes the boundaries of the Delta Agriculture Research and
Sustainability District which are coterminous with East Carroll and Tensas parishes.
Proposed law expands the boundaries of the district to include the boundaries of Concordia
and Madison parishes.
Proposed law specifies that the board, its members, and its agents are immune from personal
liability for good faith acts related to the board's responsibilities. Further specifies that this
immunity applies to all costs, damages, and attorney fees arising from claims and suits
against them related to matters where the immunity applies.
