MTR VEHICLE/LICEN PLATES: Establishes special prestige license plates for certain
Louisiana schools
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 47:463.73(G), relative to special prestige license plates; to
3 provide for the "St. Mary's Dominican High School", "St. Paul's School", "St.
4 Scholastica Academy", and "St. Mary's Academy" special prestige license plates; to
5 provide for creation and application of existing issuance, design, fees, distribution,
6 and rule promulgation applicable to license plates; and to provide for related matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. R.S. 47:463.73(G) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
9 ยง463.73. Special prestige license plate; Louisiana parochial, public, and private high
10 schools

12 G. The secretary shall establish special prestige license plates for Archbishop
13 Hannan High School, Jesuit High School, Mount Carmel Academy, the Academy of
14 the Sacred Heart, Saint Katharine Drexel Preparatory School, Acadiana High School,
15 Glen Oaks High School, Neville High School, Carroll High School, Brusly High
16 School, Port Allen High School, Covington High School, Scotlandville Magnet High
17 School, St. Michael the Archangel High School, St. Mary's Dominican High School,
18 St. Paul's School, St. Scholastica Academy, St. Mary's Academy, and any other
19 parochial, public, or private Louisiana high school in accordance with the provisions
20 of this Section as it was enacted.

Abstract: Creates special prestige license plates for St. Mary's Dominican High School, St.
Paul's School, St. Scholastica Academy, and St. Mary's Academy.
Present law establishes special prestige license plates for La. parochial, public, and private
high schools to include: Archbishop Hannan High School, Jesuit High School, Mount
Carmel Academy, the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Saint Katharine Drexel Preparatory
School, Acadiana High School, Glen Oaks High School, Neville High School, Carroll High
School, Brusly High School, Port Allen High School, Covington High School, Scotlandville
Magnet High School, St. Michael the Archangel High School
Proposed law adds St. Mary's Dominican High School, St. Paul's School, St. Scholastica
Academy, and St. Mary's Academy into the list of high schools for which a special prestige
license plate will be established. Additionally, all present law provisions applicable to La.
parochial, public, and private high school special prestige license plates; such as, creation,
issuance, design, fees, distribution, and rule promulgation are applicable to such plates.

The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Transportation,
Highways and Public Works to the original bill:
1. Add St. Paul's School and St. Scholastica Academy to the special prestige license
plates the secretary must establish.
The House Floor Amendments to the engrossed bill:
1. Add St. Mary's Academy to the list of high schools for which a special prestige
license plate will be created.
