HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 89

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend Georgina Dhillon, editor of Kreol Magazine and founder of Zari Gallery, for
her numerous professional achievements.
WHEREAS, Georgina Dhillon is a champion of mixed-race culture and causes; she
is an experienced businesswoman and international diplomat who proudly supports cross-
cultural exchanges with the hope of bringing awareness to philanthropic projects that widen
access to the arts and bring awareness to social and environmental challenges; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Dhillon founded Zari Gallery in the Fitzrovia residential area in
London; the gallery is dedicated to art that transcends borders; she has nurtured and
championed the works of artists from all backgrounds who are united by their mixed cultural
heritage; and
WHEREAS, Georgina serves as the editor of Kreol Magazine; the publication is
dedicated to promoting Creole culture around the world by sharing the lively music, creative
dances, interpretive arts, rich language, and honored traditions of the Creole people and
linking cultures together; the magazine spotlights Creole individuals who have demonstrated
success in personal character and in industry, giving both local and global readers the
opportunity to recognize and applaud their inspiring stories; and
WHEREAS, Georgina Dhillon is most deserving of the highest recognition for her
inspiring work to uplift the Creole culture and highlight its inspiring artistic talent.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Georgina Dhillon, editor of Kreol Magazine, for her numerous professional
achievements and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that she continue to prosper in her
efforts to highlight the Creole culture on a global scale.
