HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 99

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend Dow on over one hundred twenty-five years of operation in 2023 and to
recognize May 17, 2023, as Dow Day at the state capitol.
WHEREAS, Dow has been in operation globally for over one hundred twenty-five
years; and
WHEREAS, Dow has had a presence in Louisiana since 1956; and
WHEREAS, Dow operates four manufacturing sites in Louisiana, accounting for
17% of the company's global output; and
WHEREAS, Dow employs nearly 5,000 employees and contractors in the state; and
WHEREAS, Dow gives more than one $1 million annually to communities in
Louisiana, pumps over $1 billion into the state's economy each year, and has more than three
hundred volunteers involved in nonprofit organizations; and
WHEREAS, Dow is committed to delivering a sustainable future for the world
through its materials science expertise and collaboration with its partners; and
WHEREAS, Dow is aspiring to become the most innovative, customer centric,
inclusive, and sustainable materials science company in the world.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Dow on over one hundred twenty-five years of operation and does hereby
recognize Wednesday, May 17, 2023, as Dow Day at the state capitol.
