COMMENDATIONS: Commends the Wossman High School Lady Wildcats basketball
team on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2023 Division II
Non-Select state championship
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Wossman High School Lady Wildcats basketball team on winning the
3 Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2023 Division II Non-Select state
4 championship.
5 WHEREAS, the Wossman High School Lady Wildcats captured the 2023 Division II
6Non-Select state title by defeating the Albany High School Lady Hornets, 63-43, in the
7championship game held at Southeastern Louisiana University Center in Hammond,
8Louisiana; and
9 WHEREAS, the victory gives the Lady Wildcats basketball program its second-
10consecutive state title; more impressively, this season was also the second time that the team
11has reached the playoffs in school history; and
12 WHEREAS, in the championship game, the Lady Wildcats were led by Da'Naya
13Ross, who scored twenty-four points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Anyra Wilson, who
14scored fourteen points and grabbed four rebounds; and
15 WHEREAS, the 2023 Wossman Lady Wildcats basketball team is led by Head
16Coach Otis Robinson, Jr., Assistant Coach Gerline Guillaume, and Assistant Coach Zaire
17Dill; the players are Te'Asia Martin, Da'Naya Ross, Anyra Wilson, Kamilya Minnieweather,
18Ramiah Augurson, Ashanti Smith, Lyrics Robinson, Katreeka Mott-Franklin, Ebony Sumler,
19Mondrecia Wilson, Mariah Criff, Brittany Burton, and Andrea Scott; additionally, the team's
20managers are Samia Scott and Dorothy Fields; and

1 WHEREAS, the Wossman High School Lady Wildcats are most deserving of the
2highest recognition for their incredible achievements.
3 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
4Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Wossman High School Lady Wildcats
5basketball team on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2023 Division
6II Non-Select state championship and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that the team's
7players and coaches continue their excellent work and always strive for greatness.
