HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 103

A RESOLUTION
To commend the Wossman High School Lady Wildcats basketball team on winning the
Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2023 Division II Non-Select state
championship.
WHEREAS, the Wossman High School Lady Wildcats captured the 2023 Division II
Non-Select state title by defeating the Albany High School Lady Hornets, 63-43, in the
championship game held at Southeastern Louisiana University Center in Hammond,
Louisiana; and
WHEREAS, the victory gives the Lady Wildcats basketball program its second-
consecutive state title; more impressively, this season was also the second time that the team
has reached the playoffs in school history; and
WHEREAS, in the championship game, the Lady Wildcats were led by Da'Naya
Ross, who scored twenty-four points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Anyra Wilson, who
scored fourteen points and grabbed four rebounds; and
WHEREAS, the 2023 Wossman Lady Wildcats basketball team is led by Head
Coach Otis Robinson, Jr., Assistant Coach Gerline Guillaume, and Assistant Coach Zaire
Dill; the players are Te'Asia Martin, Da'Naya Ross, Anyra Wilson, Kamilya Minnieweather,
Ramiah Augurson, Ashanti Smith, Lyrics Robinson, Katreeka Mott-Franklin, Ebony Sumler,
Mondrecia Wilson, Mariah Criff, Brittany Burton, and Andrea Scott; additionally, the team's
managers are Samia Scott and Dorothy Fields; and
WHEREAS, the Wossman High School Lady Wildcats are most deserving of the
highest recognition for their incredible achievements.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Wossman High School Lady Wildcats
basketball team on winning the Louisiana High School Athletic Association 2023 Division
II Non-Select state championship and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that the team's
players and coaches continue their excellent work and always strive for greatness.
