HLS 23RS-994 ORIGINAL 2023 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 11 BY REPRESENTATIVE HUGHES CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences on the death of Lolita Althea Perez Dufauchard 1 A RESOLUTION 2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Lolita Althea 3 Perez Dufauchard. 4 WHEREAS, it is with immense sadness and profound regret that the House of 5Representatives has learned of the passing, on April 3, 2023, of Lolita Althea Perez 6Dufauchard; and 7 WHEREAS, Lolita Althea Perez was born on November 19, 1931, to Hernandez and 8Leonora Duplessis Perez; she was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and graduated from 9Xavier University Preparatory High School, where she received the Class of 1950 10Scholarship Award; after graduating, she attended Xavier University in New Orleans; and 11 WHEREAS, Lolita cherished her family above all other things in life; she was united 12in holy matrimony to Alvin Charles Dufauchard on December 31, 1951, and shared fifty-six 13years of life together; they had two loving children, Al and Sharon, whom they adored; and 14 WHEREAS, Lolita was an incredibly determined mother who prioritized her 15children's well-being and future at every opportunity; she worked to afford her children the 16opportunity to attend college; she held numerous occupations throughout her career, working 17for Bunk's Factory, the United States Postal Service, the Department of Agriculture, and the 18Veterans Administration Hospital, and was a dedicated and dependable employee until her 19retirement in 1991; and 20 WHEREAS, following her retirement, Ms. Dufauchard was finally able to find time 21to truly enjoy and appreciate her family and friends; she began regularly hosting and Page 1 of 2 HLS 23RS-994 ORIGINAL HR NO. 11 1attending family gatherings, playing Pokeno, traveling, going to the casino, completing 2jigsaw puzzles, and eating sweets; her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her 3grandchildren and great-granddaughter; and 4 WHEREAS, Ms. Dufauchard was a kind, loving, and soft-spoken woman who never 5had a negative thing to say about anyone; she leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her 6children, Alvin Charles Dufauchard, Jr., and Sharon Dufauchard White; son-in-law, George 7White; daughter-in-law, Janeice Chambers; grandchildren, Tiffany White, Gerren White, and 8Erin Dufauchard Hazley, and her husband Kirk; great-granddaughter, Teagan Hazley; 9brother, Hernandez Perez; sister, Manuella Fancher; sisters-in-law, Bernice Brown, Ruby 10Dufauchard, and Elizabeth Quinn; "bonus" grandson, Jason Wynne Hughes; special sister- 11friends, Theresa Gonzales, Rose LaBeaud, and Shirley Scieneaux; and a host of extended 12family and friends; she will be deeply missed, but certainly never forgotten. 13 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the 14Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of Lolita 15Althea Perez Dufauchard and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that her family, friends, 16and loved ones find comfort and joy in their shared memories of her beautiful life.
