ENROLLED 2023 Regular Session HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 114 BY REPRESENTATIVE COX A RESOLUTION To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Lula Ruth Vinson. WHEREAS, it is with immense sadness that the House of Representatives has learned of the passing, on April 25, 2023, of Lula Ruth Vinson; and WHEREAS, Lula Ruth Vinson was born to John Vinson, Sr., and Janie S. Vinson, on July 30, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana; she accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Bethel Church #1 in Alden Bridge, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Vinson graduated from C.H. Irion High School in Benton, Louisiana, in 1966; she earned a bachelor's degree in social work from Grambling College in 1971; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Vinson's professional experience included working as an employee of Bossier Parish School System and as an assistant executive director of Bossier City Housing Authority; her other employment endeavors included working with Bossier Parish Police Department, Congressman Buddy Roemer's legislative staff, and more; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Vinson served in her church as a church secretary and adult Sunday school instructor; and WHEREAS, Lula Ruth Vinson leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her son, Dr. Terence Vinson; sisters, Virginia Austin, Eloise White, and her husband Leon, Christine Ogilvie, and her husband Robert, and Jacqueline Addison, and her husband Richard; brother, Arbie Lee Vinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; she will be deeply missed, but certainly never forgotten. Page 1 of 2 HR NO. 114 ENROLLED THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express heartfelt condolences on the death of Lula Ruth Vinson and does hereby extend sincerest wishes that her family, friends, and loved ones find comfort in their shared memories of her beautiful life.
